We are in a great position where we have all our equipment in-house which means quick turnaround times and the best possible price for our clients.
Stage 1
Forestry Management
HTD Forestry will manage all aspects of the operations including obtaining felling licences and applying for grant applications on the client’s behalf. Wildlife checks, utility checks and risk assessments are carried out before works commence to ensure all health and safety requirements and legislations are met.
Timber Marketing
Being FSC certified this allows us to sell and market timber at a competitive price. We can negotiate with the sawmills to get the best possible outcome for our client, prices are discussed with the client before works commence. As timber is tax free some of our clients decide to go down the route of buying woodlands
Stage 2
Clearfell
The purpose of clearfell is to clear all trees from a predominant area when the maximum growth has been reached allowing new growth to start. Clearfell works well where growth rates are relatively high and rotations are short.
Thinning
Thinning is used for various reasons sometimes it can be to do with improving the density of the woodland for visual reasons or it can be to do with removing poorer / older trees which prevents new growth of younger trees, by removing these individual trees this helps improve the woodland environment and promote the growth of younger trees.
Replantation
Replantation is great for the environment as it encourages forest regeneration. There are grants available for replantation, we can assist the client with the application procedure for the grants as well as prepping the ground ready for replantation.
Stage 3
Timber Haulage
Once our machines have the timber to the roadside the next stage is to transport the timber to the sawmills, with having our own haulage vehicles we are able to transport the timber to the sawmills on a daily basis meaning a quick turnaround for our client.
